In this first-of-the-year-2026 series of works I explore inner human states through a bodily and symbolic language. What interested me was the process of living through emotions: how tension, fear, anxiety or pain exist in the body and transform over time.
The anthropomorphic figure with horns is the central image of the series. The first appearance of such kind in my art. It is me, or not me, but certainly some version of myself. The horns are a symbol of otherness, instinctual nature, and a kind of strength that exists outside social norms. This is an image of a living, “uncomfortable to others” creature.
The open rib cage exposes the chest as a vulnerable space. It speaks about sensitivity taken to an extreme — about being open, unprotected, and receptive. The closed eyes - as always - indicate inward vision, a shift of attention toward the inside, something I personally lack very much. I am often outside rather than inside myself. The gesture of the hands on the chest is an attempt to contain an intense experience, to hold it without collapsing.
The series arranged itself as a process. From a state of overload and inner storm - through structuring, the acceptance of cycles, and grounding - toward a state of movement and lightness. Symbols of nature - always key in my work - such as phases, roots, and the path reflect an understanding of transformation as a cyclical rather than linear process.
The lightness the character arrives at is not a final state or an escape from complexity. It is the result of learning to be in the body, in feeling, and in life without constant resistance and avoidance.
